Silver can darken due to skin pH or environmental humidity. However, at VIDAL & VIDAL, we apply an exclusive galvanic lacquer that acts as a molecular sealant, protecting the piece and maintaining the characteristic white brilliance of silver for much longer.
What is the difference between Sterling Silver and silver plating in necklaces?
Our 925 Sterling Silver pieces are entirely made of First Grade Silver (925 parts per thousand), officially certified with the B2 925 hallmark. Once the jewelry is crafted, we apply a final layer of Pure Silver (1000 parts per thousand) through galvanization. This provides a whiteness and glow that standard silver cannot achieve.
Silver plating is used to bring our more volumetric bronze-based designs to life. We apply a generous layer of Sterling Silver exceeding 5 microns, creating a real and durable barrier. After plating, to prevent natural tarnishing (sulfurization), we seal each piece with our exclusive galvanic lacquer, which acts as an invisible shield against moisture and air.
Are they suitable for sensitive skin?
